Indiana lets couples start a marriage-license application online, but starting online is not the same as completing the marriage remotely. That distinction is especially helpful if you and your partner cannot attend an appointment together. Two different ways to plan
An online Indiana application still has an in-person step
Indiana's official application guidance says both partners must appear in person to complete the state license process. Residents apply through the appropriate place of residence, while two nonresidents apply where their Indiana ceremony will take place. Completing information on a website beforehand can prepare the application, but it does not replace the required appearance or create a marriage.
An Indiana marriage license is valid for 60 days from issuance, and it can be used on the day it is issued. That does not mean every appointment or ceremony is available that day. For a local wedding, coordinate the application, identification and officiant separately. The deadline on the issued license is more useful than a general promise that a process is quick.
Our service should not be treated as the final video step of an Indiana application. If you choose a remote ceremony through Legal Online Marriage, follow the instructions in your account for the license that goes with that ceremony. You should not buy an Indiana license simply because you live in Indiana. If you have already started an application, tell the team where you are in the process.

Indiana's application asks for personal and family information, including information about parents and any earlier marriage. Gather accurate spellings and dates before you begin rather than relying on memory during an appointment. When partners work different shifts or live apart, choose a quiet place and a time both can attend the live ceremony. Being online does not make attendance optional. Keep your ceremony instructions, identification and contact details together. Decide who will receive mailed documents, particularly if you are moving shortly after the wedding or using a temporary address for the ceremony.

Choose an available appointment after the required preparation. You and your partner join by video with an officiant and two adult witnesses. We can provide the witnesses, or you can bring your own.
Choose document support
The $399 package includes the ceremony. The $899 package adds apostille authentication for your marriage certificate. Both have a separate government marriage license fee. An apostille authenticates a document; it does not guarantee acceptance.

Questions from Indiana couples
Does Indiana’s online application mean we can skip appearing in person?
Not for the standard Indiana licensing process. The state guidance says both partners still appear in person to complete it. Our service is a separate remote route rather than a way to skip that step within an Indiana application.
What if our Indiana license will expire before our plans work out?
Do not use an expired license. Indiana guidance says couples who do not marry within its 60-day window must apply for a new license. If you want to change to our service, discuss the separate licensing requirements first.
Will our ceremony be recorded in Indiana?
Not through this separate remote process. Your marriage record is held by the government authority that records the ceremony, rather than automatically by your home state. Keep the certified copy and confirm what the organization receiving it needs.
Can we join the ceremony from different places?

Requirements depend on the office or organization receiving the certificate, and can differ for benefits, immigration matters or use outside the United States. Ask that office what record, certified copy, apostille or translation it needs before choosing a package.
Can we use a local clerk near Indianapolis, Fort Wayne instead?
