Two different ways to plan
Allow for Connecticut’s new application waiting period
Connecticut’s current health department guidance requires both applicants to apply in person in the town where the ceremony will take place. The town cannot issue the license until at least 48 hours after the second applicant signs the application. This waiting period took effect on October 1, 2026, so older descriptions saying there is no wait may no longer fit your plans.
That 48-hour interval is not the same as an appointment guarantee. The application and collection of the license take place during the office’s normal business hours. A weekend, holiday or a later signature can change the practical day on which the document becomes available. Ask about the actual application and pickup arrangements before choosing a local ceremony time.
After Connecticut issues the license, it is valid for up to 65 days. The local license is tied to the town where the wedding will occur. Our remote service follows a separate licensing and ceremony process, so these Connecticut application steps should not be copied into your online account or treated as a way to arrange our ceremony.

The $399 package includes the ceremony. The $899 package adds apostille authentication for your marriage certificate. Both have a separate government marriage license fee. An apostille authenticates a document; it does not guarantee acceptance.

These details apply to a marriage license issued through the Connecticut local process. They are state-specific planning points, not requirements for the separate license used for our ceremony.
