Two different ways to plan
A longer license window still needs a ceremony plan
A Montana marriage license is effective when issued and expires after 180 days. That gives couples using the local route room to plan, but the ceremony still needs to happen while the license is valid. Do not mistake the date on an application receipt for a completed marriage date. Set aside a place to keep the issued license and any written instructions that come with it.
Online paperwork may be only the beginning of a local application. For example, one current local application route require both applicants to appear together to sign after submitting the online information. That example should not be treated as a promise that every office uses identical appointments or document checks. It does show why a form submitted from home is not enough to establish that the entire local marriage process is remote.
Our service arranges a live remote ceremony under its own licensing process. It does not extend the validity of a Montana license or replace the instructions attached to one. If you have already applied locally, follow the portal guidance before starting another application. Keep the licensing route, officiant and resulting certificate together as one connected process rather than mixing steps from different instructions.

The $399 package includes the ceremony. The $899 package adds apostille authentication for your marriage certificate. Both have a separate government marriage license fee. An apostille authenticates a document; it does not guarantee acceptance.
